Original Beef Jerky By Country Archer, 100% Grass-Fed, Gluten Free, 7 Ounce
Don’t typically like beef jerky but this one has great texture and flavor! Will buy again
I was turned on to eating this jerky from watching a youtube video by Good Mythical Morning about best jerky... they won first place so I had to taste it for myself. I have never been a fan or original flavor beef jerky but daaaaaaang! this was good I sat down and ate the entire bag :/... Not the best life choice but it was just so good! I so look forward to trying the rest of their flavors! If you are a fan of jerky.... you seriously need to try this! it was so tender it was almost melt in your mouth!
I like the original flavor the best!
Let me start by saying I don't normally write reviews. I think I've written once my whole life.Recently I watched a pair of YouTubers known as 'Good Mythical Morning' aka Rhett and Link do a jerky episode. This brand was at the top of their list, so I was EXCITED to try this.I was eager to try a piece when it came, but after first bite I was HEAVILY disappointed.First off, this jerky is pretty moist. Not a dry patch, and it's very chewy. This may be good for some people but I like that toughness.Second, the flavor just isn't good. It doesn't really taste like meat at all, if I'm being honest. Like I thought Jack Link's tasted process, this stuff is worst, which is weird since it's organic.Growing up I ate a lot of different kinds of beer jerky thanks to my family not knowing what the best kind is. This jerky reminds me A LOT of beef jerky they bought me from Dollar Trees, in both taste and texture. Except honestly, I'd prefer the Dollar Tree stuff over this.Overall, IMO, it's not good. I regret spending over $12 on this and wish it was refundable. Oh well, I guess. If you're looking for something more meaty and tough, keep looking cause this isn't for you. If you like moist chewy 'meat', buy this.
This is a little on the sweet side, but still very good, some of the best jerky I've ever had. They obviously use good cuts of meat as there is very little stringy tendons, etc. in the meat, it makes it much more enjoyable to eat. Its' a little on the pricey side, but its' top tier stuff. I'll buy again.
TL;DR: I like the very soft texture and seemingly high quality meat, but the flavor is the single most displeasing jerky flavor I've ever had (and I've had some strange jerky).Like many other reviewers, I decided to try this jerky after hearing the incredible praise from a couple of YouTubers after they taste tested a bunch of different brands of jerky. I read the reviews, noticed that a lot of people were put off by this jerky due to it either having a strange taste or to being too soft. I personally have no problem with soft jerky, and I figured that the strange taste people described must be a matter of subjective taste, since, evidently, some people seem to love the flavor. So I tried it, and I regretted it after the first bite. Something about it tastes wrong. It doesn't taste rotten or anything, and it's not a chemical-like taste; it's just very distinctly unpleasant to me. I asked someone else to try it, and they winced at the taste.I still believe that it's a matter of personal taste, so if you want to give it a try for yourself and don't mind taking a risk with the money you'd spend, then by all means give it a try. It's possible that I got a bad batch, but the other reviews describing a bad taste seem very spread out in time, so it seems unlikely to me that all of those batches were bad as well.Apparently some people think it's the best. But if you want a safer bet, I think you should buy something else.
You just won't stop eating it!
Too mushy. Too sweet. There is a sharp flavor that is overpowering, possibly too much smoke flavoring. The ingredient flavors don't quite complement each other.
