I just went through Hurricane Beryl, and what was shocking was that the power went out for such an extended amount of time. Even in Cat 3's, we've had power the whole storm or only lost power for a few hours. I've never worried about Cat 1/2 storms because they've been super mild with a little flooding, but this was insane with 2.5 million people with a loss of power. This storm happened July 8, 2024, and it's now the 17th as I write this, and I have friends/family STILL without power. So as you can imagine, sitting in the dark, no radio, no power, no way to charge things or know what's going on was super frustrating. In life, its best you learn from your mistakes and better prepare for the future, so this was definitely a wake-up call on a lot of things storm related. I cannot express how useful this "would have" been, and I'm hoping I won't need in the future, but a good emergency item to have. The LIghts: Very bright! Walking down a dark hallway, everything is lit up. Both the reading/and main light have two settings high and low.Compass/Strap: Both useful if you were maybe camping or you need to walk room to room or place to place. I might suggest adding an additional strap so you can carry it like a purse or crossbody if you need to travel a ways.SOS: Very loud! You can't just sit and listen to it, you press that button and your neighbors will hear it! Useful if you need help.Radio: I got a lot of static initially, but nothing the tuner and antenna did not fix. Radio volume can be set really high as well. Love that you can plug in some old school headphones. The NOAA stations are good if you like to hear monotone continual weather information.Charging: Super convenient. I 100% have been purchasing all my emergency equipment based on the ability to charge in at least 2 methods, solar and USB, and this has five!!! They all work really well. Some faster/slower than others, but it's awesome to know that this won't lose power even if you have no sun and no batteries.Score: 10/10, would definitely recommend to anyone who camps, or lives in an area with a lot of storms or power outages.
Excellent product! It was what I looking for, multifunctional.

Tiene tantos botones y hace tantas cosas que tendré que estudiar el manualillo unos días para sacarle su rendimiento. Es muy interesante todo lo que ofrece y el tamaño que tiene, pero la verdad es, que espero no tener que usarla NUNCA....
I bought this for any situation that I might be in; storms mostly. It is small but powerful. We take it camping, long hikes and even put it in my truck when we go on trips or when I know there is a storm coming and we are traveling. We keep it charged and ready to go if needed. I know if we get stuck somewhere we can get updates on weather, send an SOS, keep a phone charged and have a flashlight, even if you don't have power, it has solar power and a hand crank. So far, it seems durable and reliable. We have never needed, yet but I am glad we have it, just in case we get stuck in a snow storm or lost in the woods.
This is a well made radio and should deserve 5 stars for all of its great features. However, I have 3 issues with this radio:1. AM reception is less than great, especially with stations that don't broadcast using a lot of power. Moreover, the volume level, while adequate, needs to be adjusted when changing stations. There is no automatic gain control, so weaker stations need a volume boost after listening to a stronger station.2. This is a NOA radio, but alerts can only be received when the radio is in standby mode or when the Alert function is enabled. However, while listening to the radio on any band, except for the weather band, the radio will not be able to monitor and issue weather alerts when they occur. I experienced this when listening to an AM station on the CR1009 PRO, when a weather alert with alarm set off a Midland E310 radio, but failed to interrupt listening and set off a siren on the CR1009. The seller confirmed this limitation, which was not obvious in the instructions. To be fair, it is obvious when you set the radio to Alert and see the Alert symbol on the LCD display, only to have the symbol disappear after switching from standby, to a broadcast band. Moreover, the Alert must be enabled again when returning to standby. In comparison, some NOA radios, like the Midland ER310, CAN alarm while you are listening.Having said all this, I like that the CR1009 can operate directly from its AC adapter, while monitoring for alerts in standby mode. This means I never have to remember to recharge the battery. Otherwise, the internal lithium battery would be depleted in about 130 hours, according to the instruction manual. (BTW, the Midland, can not be left plugged in after charging it. That radio doesn't allow for monitoring or listening while plugged in.)3. The 12000 ma internal battery is not user replacable. The seller offers at least a 1 year warranty, but I would doubt they will be able to service or replace old batteries after that. Nevertheless, because the radio will still operate with the AC adapter or alkaline batteries, it shouldn't become totally useless. (Though the radio offers solar and crank options, I doubt, because of their inefficiency, you would want to use them).Even though I gave this radio 4 out of 5 stars, I can highly recommend it because of all of its features, in spite of a few limitations. Furthermore, the large capacity, built in lithium battery, while not replaceable, offers the distinct advantage of using the radio as a powerbank to charge your phone in a power outage. On a very positive note, the constomer support by this seller is fantastic. While the CR1009 is sold by several other sellers, it's hard to imagine they could give the excellent support I have already received, while trying to fully understand this radios capabilities. His responses have been prompt, thorough, and very clear.
Buena calidad y recepción.
The product does everything it claims it supposed to do. It feels solid with no loose parts. The battery crank is solid and fits secure.I chose a digital display model as I have found they are easier to tune, especially to AM and Weather channels. The radio works great, and the speaker sounds good, without distortion or scratching. The instructions were in English and easy to understand. The flashlight and reading light have two settings for brighter and dimmer.I tested the USB port to charge my iPhone and it works fine. It's small and lightweight and perfect for my hiking bag, either inside or clipped to the outside, although I would recommend a stronger carabiner clip than the one provided.
Buena calidad. Tanto la carga manual (por manivela) y no la solar (aunque es algo lenta) funcionan bien. Construcción robusta. Muy contento con la compra
