Great for a photographer. I am able to upload pics straight from my camera SD card to my phone. It’s easy to load, edit, and send off to client. Love this!

I bought a waterproof digital camera and realized I didn’t have a good way to get the photos off of it to send to family and post on social media. I only have a work issued computer, otherwise I use my phone or iPad for personal use. I never knew something like this existed, but it was SO easy. Plugs right into the phone or iPad port. I had to read the reviews to understand as nothing shows up (like the device would on your desktop on a computer), but you open your photo app and all of your pictures are right there to transfer. So far I’ve only used it the one time, but I anticipate I’ll use it very often.

TLDR: Consider other options if you don't need Lightning and IOS compatibility!Long version:This card reader is cheap and works but tested a bit low (~33MB/s) for read speed. (See screenshot) In nontechnical terms: This is fast enough to browse and view photos and most 4k video directly off a card, but slow enough that copying them to your device would a while. Back of napkin example: copying a full 64gb SD card would likely take 30-40 minutes!Screenshot shows some quick test results from a v90 card and this reader using the included Lightning->USB C adapter and plugged into my Windows PC. This same card with a higher performance reader shows read speeds around 275MB/s and Write speeds closer to 80MB/s - a SIGNIFICANT difference. I got this card reader to move photos from my iPhone onto a micro SD card to free up space, and it works perfectly. The transfer was really fast, and using it couldn’t be easier — just plug it in and go. Such a handy little tool and totally worth it!

This is a rock solid product that allows me to quickly pull my SD card out of my game camera, at home or in the forest, to see what was captured on it. I used a permanent black marker and wrote “UP” on the top side that matches the top of the SD card. After attaching to my iPhone I open photos. There in plain sight is this device called “No Name.” Open and select all and the import selected. Those go into your photo gallery. Now look at them. Keep some, delete some, share. Pull cable out of camera. This is something inexpensive that works every time.

Good card reader. I use it to check trail cameras. Love that it comes with the adapter if you have USB-c instead of lighting now. The biggest issue I have with most of these adapters is that they work for a while, then magically stop working. The real issue is junk getting into my phone port where this connects. It has to be very clean and this adapter has to fit in very snug or it won't read the card. Almost any lint in the phone port and these tend to become hit or miss if they will work. They seem to be more reliable when they are brand new.
