It floats exactly as it should, I’ve pushed it down numerous times to mess with it and it always comes back up. I was a little confused when I first got it because I was trying to figure out how it came on. All you have to do is just drop it in the water. It has a red flashing light for when the water is 99F or above and a blue light for cold, I couldn’t tell you when it starts flashing blue as I’ve never let the water get that cold. It is a nice piece of mind to make sure I am not overheating my little one.
Tried to contact the company and cannot find a way. Amazon says the product is eligible for return but I just keep being directed to a video, which does not help at all. Don't waste your money.EDIT*** I finally found a way to contact the seller and customer service was amazing!
I really like several features of this bath thermometer compared to the duck one from a different brand that I tried previously. My favorite feature is the auto-on and auto-off (just get it wet or shake the water off and leave it to dry and it will do those things without having to press any buttons). I also like the fact that it usually stays upright and the large, easy to read display. (The duck was trying to display too many different pieces of information). However, the temperatures are inaccurate. I had gotten used to knowing the feel of the temperature I was aiming for, and just use the thermometers for confirmation (for safety) in case my nerves are not working correctly that day (since I occasionally have that health problem). So I noticed right away that the water felt much hotter than I was used to at the same reported temperature number. I brought in a kitchen thermometer to double check, and it verified my suspicion: this frog was telling me that the water was 6 degrees colder than it actually was. I'm pregnant and trying to enjoy hot baths without endangering my baby, so those six degrees make a difference!I am still enjoying using this thermometer, I just have to watch out for a lower number when filling the tub. But that's inconvenient, because the necessary number is too low to be able to set the (adjustable) red light flashing warning to temperatures that "cold"... so I miss out on getting that automatic warning.
I have always struggled with finding the right water temperature for my babies when washing them. I think, due to me hand washing clothes and doing dishes by hand all the time, I have a high tolerance for heat, so I am a bad judge at understanding how warm the water is or not. I wish I had this for my older two kids!!My baby loves his baths and I am sure it is because of the temperature finding that this cute frog tells us. It is simple to use (just touch a button to turn it on) and it tells you if the water is too hot by making a red light. It tells the degree and all. Frogs are my favorite animal so I am glad this little fella helps me out to make my baby feel comfortable.
Purchased this in June and was very happy with it keeping the temperature. Checked it against another actual thermometer and it was pretty accurate. Pulled it out of bath when done and set to dry, but after about 35 days or so, it no longer works. It keeps saying the temperature is too hot at 106/107 degrees. Checked it against a normal thermometer and it isn't right at all, more like 92 or 93 degrees. Tried to leave it out to dry completely and try again and still won't read the correct temp. Will try a hard hard reset, but would probably be better to go with a different product. Amazon kept saying I could return it, but the seller is saying I can't and the return window closed so not sure/kind of confused here.
Turns off on its own for me and always works perfectly. Was easy to set up and is always accurate on measuring temperature.
