I'm using this mic for recording vocals into Reaper. The mic has a nice overall smoothness to it, sounding more retro/vintage. In comparison to the Shure PGA48, the Carol is not as "hot", I would say, and you don't get that crispy high-end, but a much more smoother frequency response throughout. I'm very pleased with the sound quality and build, and will definitely be using it a lot more in my recordings.
Works great!
I wanted a microphone to sing jazz that would have that vintage look, and this one is really perfect! It’s a well made, heavy microphone. I feel for the price, it gives me a clear, beautiful tone…better than my Sure mic. It will depend on how you adjust it, but I’m super happy.
Seems well built and works fine. But my voice sounds kinda funny in it compared to other mics.
My husband sings and I purchased this for his birthday and he was blown away by the quality. His vocals are clearer with this mic than they ever were with his shure mic. We love the vintage look. All around just an amazing piece of music equipment.
This mike is brilliant even standing several inches from the mike the power is there I love it .Hurricane Andy .
I have been using this microphone for virtual open mic performances now for about 4 months. It has definitely met my expectations for what it is. That said, it is not a Neumann studio mic or comparable to some version of anything costing $1000. It is a dynamic microphone with a retro look and feel. I am running it into a UAD Apollo Twin as my interface. Seems well suited to my voice and guitar - I run just the one mic for both in performing songs in Zoom. It is definitely clear and articulate but smooth - not harsh. Personally, I like it more on my voice than the Sure SM7b microphone which seemed bass heavy in a bad way for my voice. Obviously, it is a preference thing. As the Carol is a dynamic mic, it does not need phantom power, it is a bit less touchy than my condenser microphones and doesn't need a pop filter. Finally, the microphone seems well constructed. For four months of use (at least 1 night per week in performance and scratch track recording), the mic has been really good in my opinion. I am hopeful it lasts a long time. This would not be my choice if I were making a commercial recording, but as a cool live performance mic, it does me well.
良かったです
I had purchased this microphone because I needed a vintage look. I also was concerned about quality. I am that guy behind the mixing board. My vocalist and I were immediately pleased on how using this mic made her sound. The pick up on it is excellent and we were able to have a specific look needed for her performances. WIN WIN. Love it.
I bought this mic for my youtube videos and wow what a surprise. It not only looks classic and vintage the quality is unbelievable.I connect it to either my Roland field recorder or one of my Zoom recorders. It will be on display at my new flat as it looks like a piece of art deco art to me!
I just received it today and tried it out right away. I rarely give a review of any purchased microphone, but this one. am very pleased with its sound. I give it a 5 star rating. However, it's appearance is bulky.
