This is sweet, delicious, and very rich. The sugar and calories are high, which makes sense with how it tastes. It's definitely not something that I could drink regularly, simply for caloric reasons - but it's a lovely treat every now and then!
Straight horrible
Clumps in the bottom even after shaking well
Since this has milk in it, I had a lovely assistant help me out. Also, this has milk in it. Many horchata recipes do, but not all of them so if you're someone with a milk allergy this is something that would be good for you to know.I wasn't expecting miracles out of this, as I know that it would taste different from fresh horchata and that of course, everyone makes it different. Whenever I made it for family members I'd go fairly basic: rice milk, cinnamon, sugar, and honey. This adds a few ingredients that are kind of new to me, like pumpkin seeds, chocolate, and peanut. This gives it a fairly different flavor profile than what my family members would drink. They said that it wasn't terrible but it was kind of different. It was still identifiable as horchata, which is always a positive thing. Other than that, they said that it did kind of have that processed taste you get with pretty much any milky canned beverage nowadays. They didn't say it was anything negative, just something they noticed. The price is also a bit on the high side, particularly when you compare to the cost of making this at home.I think the main draw of this would be that you could preserve this longer than you could if you made it at home. As long as you're willing to pay the price and don't mind this particular recipe, it could be worth it. But I think I'll continue to just make horchata at home for my lovely assistants. It doesn't last nearly as long, but it's what we're used to and cheaper.
perfect blend
I like the flavor and as instructed... shake well before opening. That said, 44g of sugar per can is quite a bit! Maybe mix in some oat milk and share it with a friend.
The best horchata you can get out of a can. They are a bit pricey but if you love horchata and can’t find any good one around your area, these are perfect.
Tastes really good. Drink it really cold, yum.
