this product doesn't seems to be stable. After upgrading the Kernel, the download speed has been down to 50% there by buffering all online streaming apps. I'm not sure whether the upgrade caused the damage or the Product itself designed to work for one year only !!! I don't recommend.

update: one month later...... don't buy this. worked ok for the first few weeks, about a month. now the box freezes. i don't mean lagging. lagging is slow internet or your iptv provider has too many ppl on their servers. what i mean here is the box will freeze permanently..... remote not responsive.... on off button on box unresponsive. it will stay this way forever. the only way to unfreeze it is to do a hard reboot.... basically unplug it and plug it in again. but after 10 minutes it will freeze again. in addtion to this it would also periodically just turn itself off. a total experience of frustration and waste of $120 as the return window is over.has it up and running for 5 days now. initially it was lagging - a lot. but it's getting better. can't confirm this for sure, but this model is automatic firmware update, no option for manual update..... and i think....think.... the firmware updated overnight and it's streaming better after the 2nd and 3rd day than it was on the first day. i set the lag time on the menu to 15 seconds to help with lag. seems to be ok now. signed up to an IPTV service located in Canada and so far so good. hell of a better idea than paying cable. hopefully by cutting the cord i'll save enough every year to go to cuba.

The user interface is designed for ease of use, and while the initial setup presented a hurdle, I was able to overcome it with the help of readily available video tutorials online.

Quality Mag box.Less buggy and laggy than older models.Works well with my IPTV setup. Not sure it's really powerful enough to support 4k as there is occassionally stuttering, but that may just be my connection.

I recently bought a Mag 524 box and everything was great but there was one annoying issue that I had to search around to find the solution. Autoplay was an issue. It wouldn’t give me a chance to scroll through any channels and would instantly play the channel the ‘play’ icon was on.This issue was resolved by going to Home > Settings > Video > HDMI event reaction. Change this setting to 1 minute or more. This then gave me time to look through the channels and double press ‘ok’ to select the channel I wanted.

The only thing I question is the frame rate, now that may not be the Infomir Mag 524w3's fault. It gives you a selection of frame rates the highest being 50/60hrz. This being said, I'm on WiFi and my provider, in the area I live in is questionable at best. Now Ive been told that an Ethernet cable is preferable, because the picture is supposed to be flawless but then my provider wants to charge me $150.00 to run a Ethernet cable from my home office to my living room, and I know why because they know I dont what to spend a ridiculous amount of money for their overpriced packages and not watch 9/10th of what their packaged offers, this is why I bought the Infomir 524w3. I had to play with the boosters Telus provided, but the unit was terrible with Freezing, Bad Streaming, where the the unit kept going back to the channel and repeating the last 30 second sequence just to back to repeat and freeze again. Now I still dont think its the 524.I've figured out how to fix the problem and that is to go through the units programming each time, and then the unit is pretty much flawless. You must not turn off the 524, then you dont have to repeat the process, which is a pain. just turn off your tvAgain I must emphasize I dont think its the Infomir 524w3, but a combination of Bad area, WiFi, and bad streaming TO THE 524w3.FYI, remember unless the The signal is in HD or 4K the 524w3 will give you what is sent to it, if its not in High Rez HD/4K dont expect to see it in Hi Rez HD/4KHope this helps in your decision.

I wanted to buy a linux settop box and found Infomir Mag 524w3 exactly what I wanted. Once you fine tune it, it will give you robust streaming. Few things to note: Before connecting to your server, do the following:1) set buffer to 5002) disable HDMI ECE from the advanced menu so switching off your box will not turn off TV.3) set your resolution 1080p-60 (max) if you have HD TVCons: When we need to change the Advanced configuration, you have to reboot. While connected to the server, menu does show settings, but not the advanced.

MAG 524w3 Review: A Solid and Affordable IPTV/Streaming BoxThe MAG 524w3 is a popular IPTV/streaming box known for its ease of use, solid performance, and affordability. It's a good entry-level option for those looking to cut the cord and explore the world of IPTV and online streaming.Pros:* Easy Setup and Use: The MAG 524w3 is remarkably user-friendly. Setting it up is straightforward, and navigating the interface is intuitive, even for those unfamiliar with streaming devices.* Stable Performance: This box generally delivers smooth playback, with minimal buffering or lag, especially with a good internet connection. It handles HD and even some 4K content reasonably well.* Wide Range of Supported Formats: The MAG 524w3 supports a wide variety of video and audio formats, ensuring compatibility with most IPTV streams and media files.* Compact and Discreet: The box is small and unobtrusive, easily fitting into any entertainment setup without drawing attention.* Affordable Price: One of the biggest selling points is its price. The MAG 524w3 offers excellent value for the money, making it a budget-friendly option.* Built-in Wi-Fi: The inclusion of built-in Wi-Fi (the "w3" designation indicates wireless connectivity) is convenient, though a wired Ethernet connection is generally recommended for the most stable streaming experience.* Regular Firmware Updates: The manufacturer regularly releases firmware updates, which often improve performance, add features, and fix bugs.Cons:* Limited App Support: Unlike some other streaming devices, the MAG 524w3 primarily focuses on IPTV functionality. It doesn't have a wide selection of pre-installed apps like Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+. It can feel a bit basic compared to some newer streaming devices.* Plastic Construction: The box is made entirely of plastic, which makes it lightweight but doesn't give it a premium feel.* Remote Control: The included remote is functional but can feel a bit cheap and sometimes requires precise aiming.Overall:The MAG 524w3 is a solid and reliable IPTV/streaming box, especially for its price point. It's a great option for those who are primarily interested in watching IPTV content and don't need a wide range of streaming apps. Its ease of use and stable performance make it a popular choice.Rating: 4 out of 5 starsRecommendation:If you're looking for an affordable and easy-to-use IPTV box, the MAG 524w3 is definitely worth considering. It's a good entry-level option for exploring the world of IPTV. Just be aware of its limitations regarding app support and the somewhat dated interface. If you need access to a broader range of streaming services, you might want to consider other devices.
