Great product, bought another one for my basement! I’m highly allergic to mold and dust mites, this light works great for those nasties! This product saved my lungs and no more runny nose! I leave it in areas that don’t get much sunlight and potential to develop nasties! Great customer service!! Thank you Rui!
I purchased this because primarily because we have a bathroom that just does not seem to vent well regardless of what we do. We literally tore the bathroom down to the studs and remodeled it from the concrete and studs up using greenboard for the entire bathroom less the shower that was upgraded to tile backer board - with multiple coats of sealant. It has an exhaust fan that far exceeds what is required for a room of that size and as odd as this is the room used to have an attic access with a ladder so we removed that as well. Everything was prepped and sanitized while it when it was open, there are no leaks and every stud that was not pressure treated was removed. We even replaced the plumbing just in case. In less than a year the musty smell had returned SO time to sterilize on a regular basis. I put this unit in the shower (which is 7' long so it's not a small area) for the first run and then vented for 6 hours. Windows open, fan running. Still smelled the ozone and I don't mean a little...I mean A LOT. I then sanitized the rest of the room by placing the unit on a counter...same end result. The remote was key because it allowed me to trigger the unit from outside the room - love that feature. I also love that there are no dead zones because of the four bulb configuration and I love that it has a plastic protective case so it can't be accidentally knocked over. That would be an expensive lesson. It has done a solid job of killing whatever was in there because a day and a half later there isn't even a hint of musty smell. The problem is there's a lingering ozone stench which despite opening windows, turning on fans, diluting the air with the house fan, etc...it just wont go away. I highly recommend the UV only version but unless you are sanitizing something commercial or something that vents like a garage I would stay away from the ozone model. I used a mask to run into the room to turn the fan on and open the window and to check it several times and I'm still having some respiratory issues - thank you albuterol. I am not a doctor or a scientist but Google helps...the symptoms are all from high doses of ozone...so...I am returning the ozone model and have re-purchased the UV only version. Again, this is my personal experience but I think the ozone model is just too much for our house but the UV only is one of the best I've seen.
I am very impressed with this light. I was initially only looking for a uv light to help clean my bathroom and prevent mold. But I was curious about the ozone aspect of it too and thought I would try it out because I also had an annoying cat pee smell that was hard to remove from my bedroom of a house I recently moved into. Not only does the uv light work great like I primarily purchased this for, but the ozone model also completely removed the gross cat smell from the bedroom which I am so happy about and did not expect it to be completely removed. Also I love the design and the price is really good for what it is.The only issue I've had is that the light on the 90 minute button stopped working. So it still works to set it for 90 minutes, it's just that that button doesn't light up like the others when selected. A small enough problem that I don't feel like it's worth it to get a replacement or reduce my rating or anything, but just a small annoyance.
We were surprised to find a plumbing leak under the upstairs floor of our 1960s house. We were even more surprised, after taking down the ceiling that there was black mold and fungus growing. I am HIGHLY allergic to mold. After doing our research and learning by trying that alcohol doesn't actually really work to kill it, we found H2O2 does because of the oxygen it breaks down to, but that Vinegar works the best as it gets down to and kills the bottom of the roots of the mold, we began using that.Having started with the alcohol (do extra research online before trying something, as answers are not always a 100% good answer as we learned), and having a situation where the location required applying via spraying/liquid, the mold that wasn't killed by the alcohol became airborne and traveled up the stairs. So from that point forward we were in a war of covering surfaces in the stairwell and respraying in the "ceiling" with vinegar. Each application got better and better. We were fortunate that the temperature outside was stuck on cold with no precipitation of any kind so humidity in the house stayed low enough to entertain the mold's growth; additionally we were able to open windows ever so slightly for air exchange and use space heaters in order to avoid moving any mold away from the small area it was in.That's when we got this product. It did well except that as we know and you'll want to know too, ozone is dangerous to breath in and can break down some materials into toxic, flying particles. The area we needed to treat was free of unwanted materials, but when turning the device on we would have to set it up, turn it on and head out for a walk, a drive...somewhere outside of the house. We only used the machine in 30 minute increments to avoid an over abundance of ozone. With persistence alternating with the Vinegar on surface areas and the light/ozone machine we have conquered it.An added addition - This company also has a similar device with the uvc only, but without the ozone. After all our research I believe that the uvc only might have worked as well without needing to leave the house as uvc also kills mold on its own. We bought a different product from AZ that is a plugin that runs continuously, protects your eyes (uvc light is dangerous for eyes) and has a smaller footprint I've tested it in a bedroom that has toxic fragrance in it from prior guests that use scented clothing products - these scents don't dissipate for a long time. The plugin with only uvc worked fabulously! The scents that had stayed stubbornly from 6+ months were gone in 24 hours!

Pros and Cons:
Mites are commonly found in beds, and regular disinfection is necessary to maintain healthy skin and a clean sleeping environment. Both ozone and non-ozone treatments can effectively eliminate mites. The choice between using ozone or not depends on your daily schedule and preferences.
Kids often play on the floor, making it important to keep the floor clean and free from germs. When it comes to floor cleaning and disinfection, ozone treatment is not necessary. Instead, non-ozone treatments can effectively sanitize the floor. After Sanitizing, kids can resume playing on the floor immediately, as there is no waiting time required.
Unpleasant odors can accumulate in various areas due to the presence of germs. To effectively address this issue, ozone treatment is recommended. During ozone treatment, the ozone gas reacts with germs, breaking down their cellular structure and neutralizing the odor molecules. This process helps create a fresher and more pleasant environment.
In hospitals and other commercial settings, sanitizing is essential, especially considering the presence of sick and elderly individuals with weaker immune systems. A strong and frequent sanitization routine is necessary to maintain a clean and safe environment. Both ozone and non-ozone treatments can be effective options for deep cleaning.
