Fellowes LX850 EasyPress Stapler, Effortless Office and Desktop Stapler, 25 Sheet Capacity, White
WOW! Finally a stapler that doesn't jam and is effortless to use! Love it!
FeaturesDurableJam freeEasyPressUse in any handFull strip staplerThree (3) year warrantyMade of metal and plasticWeighs in at about 12 ouncesMicroban antimicrobial technologyProduct Dimensions are about 5” x 0.5” x 2½ “ConsiderationWarning on box surrounding chemical exposure was not in listingPrice seems on the premium side of the stapler universeIt’s easier, to some degree, to use, wide gripThis hand stapler never jammed once, it offered frustration free stapling at the start, throughout, and at the end of our project. [There is nothing worse than a stapler jamming at any point in our stapling projects, holding up our efforts.] This stapler offered deep stapling capacity in terms of multi-sheet stapling. It’s rated at (25) pages and we were able to sneak in a couple of packets through that went a few pages over that (25) page rating. So, we really appreciated its EasyPress driving force. We thought this stapler offered in-hand comfort, and we really experienced no hand-fatigue, job after job. We thought the stapler easy to load too with full strips of staplers; and liked that the optimal type of staples was listed on the stapler (24/6 & 26/6). No staples were included. This can be used at home or office. Nicely designed. We liked that Microban antimicrobial technology was incorporated into this stapler, to help us believe, whether real or imagined, that this will fight bacteria, 24/7.Here is what we did not appreciate.Nowhere in the listing was there any reference to what was listed on the box. Which was the following:“! WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including styrene, which is known to the Stateof California to cause cancer.”Then directing us to a California Prop 65 type site.Styrene is a chemical used to make latex, synthetic rubber, and polystyrene resins. These resins are used to make plastic packaging, disposable cups and containers, insulation, and other products. Styrene is also produced naturally in some plants. The human health effects from exposure to low environmental levels of styrene are unknown, says the CDC.I think this WARNING, which is appreciated, should have been noted in the listing. I have seen this before on other listings. Maybe every stapler has this, but I think the choice to be well informed, prior to having selected this would have been best. Rather than being surprised on the product’s receipt. For that reason, I am reducing two (2) stars, for failing to disclose and other thoughts. I am old enough and educated enough to make my own decisions, rather than it being dumped/surprised on me. We have small children, and this is always a consideration we like to decide, before buying. Our children may not handle this, yet, but we do, and we could possibly expose them through our exposure.Bottom-line, I like the actions of the stapler, however, it’s ironic that Microban antimicrobial technology was incorporated, to fight bacteria, in this stapler, but on the other hand, warns me of possible exposure to styrene, which California announces is known to cause cancer. I am turned-off by the WARNING. I doubt ever selecting this again. Every buyer has a right to know and make their own free choice.I hope my thoughts assisted in any decision.
It works very well - easy to use, easy to load, takes a full staple run and will staple two pages to up around 30 just as easily. My favorite stapler and I do A LOT of stapling when organizing paperwork for our home and my tax clients.
A few times a year, she needs to staple 60ish or so 2-3 page mailings. This is clearly not heavy duty usage (I don't know why we would ever staple 40 sheets) but the reviews on most other staplers on the market are absolutely terrible - and I'm familiar enough with 30-year-old made-in-USA commercial-duty metal staplers that won't staple anymore to be really suspicious of modern plastic ones (with terrible reviews.)I am happy to report that this stapler will, in fact, do what it's supposed to do, and we decided to keep it for personal use instead of applying for reimbursement.
I have a business processing a lot of paperwork and LOVE this stapler. It actually is easy on my hands, does not jam up the staples, is a great value for the price and a decent size. The quality has been great so far and I have no complaints.
I love the upscale quality. It has an easy grip, is very light in my hand, and looks very handsome. It's the best stapler I have ever owned, and I love it. If you are deciding which stapler to buy, this is the one.
This stapler is definitely worth what I paid for it. The handles resting position is a little awkward to handle if you are going to pick it up to use it, but the handle is very easily pressed down when the stapler is in its normal resting position on the desk. The stapler feels nice and solid in my hands; sturdy yet a nice sleek design. No more jammed staples for me!
The gap to position your papers is wider than most staplers. I noticed with thicker stacks, I would have to squeeze the edge together to get all the paper under the stapler. This one has more room so I can usually just hold the mid end or middle of what I'm stapling and it easily goes in (if you like to keep it on your desk while stapling instead of picking it up... However, is not a great stapler if you want one to pick up and staple in the air.
