I'm really happy with this Takstar PC-K200 II mic. The build quality feels impressive out of the box, with a nice heft and sturdy feel. It's a nice looking mic too, for what that's worth. The sound quality is equally impressive, with very low noise and good clarity. I'm not a pro audio engineer, but this one sounds pretty flat to me, which isn't a negative at all. I'd say this is a fine choice for streaming or podcasting, or for home/amateur music studio use. If you're looking for a cheap mic that provides good bang for your buck, it's definitely worth a look at the current $40 price point.
I have used a lot of microphones over the past 2 decades, everything from super high end to dirt cheap. This is a good microphone, especially considering the price. I found the sound to be flat but was able to make vocals sound great after processing. I was able to make it sound just as good as some of my more expensive mics, it just too a lot more work.If you are not recording on a professional level, this mic is more than good enough.
This worked well for a group of 5, playing bluegrass. The mic picked up everthing I needed it to pick up, plus some minor chit chat. For the price, I see as a great value and I plan to get another for larger groups. Will major studios start using these? I seriously doubt it, but, if you are putting something together on a small budget, this mic will serve your needs.
El microfono llegó con daño y no enciende
This a decent little mic that performs pretty well. I used it to record band rehearsals and to put together some song demos I was submitting. For the demos, I dual mic’d a guitar and my vocals using this mic along with a Neumann TLM-103, so comparisons below will be to the TLM-103.Pros:Very reasonably priced at $46 (a TLM-103 is $800 or more)A blue indicator light showing it has powerSuper flat frequency response (but maybe some would not like that?)Sturdy housingIncludes a mic stand adapter and windscreen/pop filterCons:Output level is a little low compared to the TLM-103Doesn’t seem to have a shock mount you can buy for itOverall I’m pretty impressed with this little mic. I’m not a sound engineer, so the diagram of the frequency response being super flat looks good to me, but putting it up next to the TLM-103 chart (I’ll include a picture of that), you can see that Neumann designed theirs to not be flat. Theirs starts rolling off below around 75hz and has a bump above 5Khz. So maybe that’s better because they ought to know a thing or 2 about mics, right? But it would seem to me I could use a low cut filter to emulate the TLM-103 low end. The high end, on the other hand, would be more difficult because I’d have to boost that end and I doubt my mixer is going to do that quite the same. From a usage point of view, I can definitely say this mic puts out a weaker signal than the TLM-103. I adjusted my dual channel demo setup as identically as I could, running the signals into Ableton Live and the TLM-103 waveform was noticeably bigger. I didn’t try boosting the Takstar to get it the same as the TLM, but I’m sure I could have, at the expense of boosting the noise floor I suppose. But bottom line is this is a pretty good mic when you consider it’s about 20 times cheaper than that TLM-103. If I’m doing studio work, I’ll choose the Neumann, but at my band rehearsal where things are getting moved around or bumped into, I’ll use this one.I wish they’d make or recommend a shock mount for it because that low end response is going to pick up things I don’t want it picking up and I’d rather stop that at the source than trying to EQ it out. But maybe I can find something aftermarket because this mic is 6 mm narrower (54mm) and that might be just thin enough to fit some of the podcast suspensions I see available. I tried those on the TLM-103 but it was too fat for them, so I gave them away.I was going to knock off a star for the lower signal level but decided, for the price of this mic, it really is a good value, so kept it at 5.The pictures show the freq response, polar patterns and tech specs for the 2 mics for those who can interpret these things.
Sound reproduction is very high quality and accurate to the human ear. Great value relative to better known German brands. Manufacture is high level with great precision. Match this with a stable desk mount or boom arm. Ironically, a high quality mount will likely cost more than this mic.
For every podcaster to music producer, do not hesitate if you are on a budget and need some quality sound from a condensed microphone, this is your mic. Amazing sound and very well built and I promise you it’s well worth. Thank me later.
I'll be honest, when you are buying a condenser microphone at this price point if it can just record an audio signal that might be considered a fair deal. This microphone though punches above it's weight. If I was rating it on finish alone I would say it's a 5. The finish is very nice and certainly has the appearance of microphones that cost 10 to 20 times as much. Very solid feeling and the screen looks as good as any other microphone I have.As far as sound quality, it handles acoustic instruments and vocals very well. I would compare it to my Behringer B-1 in terms of the response. I'm not a huge fan of the little blue led on it but it does let you know you've got phantom power going to it. It just sticks out a little in comparison to the rest of the finish.Overall, this is a great mic to pick up for your studio for vocals. Certainly it would do well for voice work or streaming. Worth the purchase price for sure. Rating it a five because the value for the price is fantastic. No it's not replacing your top tier mics, but at the price it's hard not to have a couple of these around.
