I've made my own cashew milk. It never came out as creamy as this Elmhurst milk, and you have to strain it, otherwise the texture is grainy. This cashew milk is of superb quality; it is made with only 2 ingredients (non-GMO cashews and water), and has no added sweeteners or thickeners. I rely on every single day (that I'm home anyway) for morning smoothies and my bowl of cereal. It works great in coffee too.Another thing that is nice about this cashew milk is that it can be stored without refrigeration until opened. I'll buy a case or two at a time and then keep them in my kitchen cabinet until I need to open a new bottle. The company also makes other plant-based milks, most of which I have tried. The 2nd best one is the walnut milk (also creamy, just a different flavor and more fat content). I also buy the hazelnut milk every so often (it's a little more watery than these other 2). Elmhurst also makes almond and oat milk (have not tried the oat milk yet).Yes these Elmhurst milks are pricey and I do go through bottles quickly, but for me this is worth every penny. I've not found a plant-based milk of this quality anywhere - and I've tried - and it's a lot of trouble to make your own. It can also be also expensive to make your own if you use good quality nuts, because you need to use a lot to make a milk as creamy as this. So you can try to make your own and see how the cost and effort compares. I've tried and think this is worth it and heartily recommend these Elmhurst milks, especially the cashew and walnut milks.
Tasted just as good as the 100% cashew milk, which is a godsend to my nondairy gf diet. Creamy and no off taste, unlike coconut, almond or oat milks.
The Elmhurst 1925 Unsweetened Coconut Cashew Milk has become a staple in my kitchen for its simple and pure ingredients. It combines the subtle sweetness of coconut with the creamy texture of cashew, making it perfect for adding to my morning coffee or blending into smoothies. The 32-ounce carton is just the right size to keep on hand without taking up too much space in the fridge. I appreciate that it’s unsweetened, allowing me to control the sweetness of my drinks or recipes. Plus, the clean label with no added gums or emulsifiers makes it a wholesome choice I trust.
I am not sure whey more people aren’t talking about this milk. It is absolutely delicious!! I make a double shot of espresso every morning and add some ice, then add this and some honey and it is the perfect mix. It is a little on the pricey side, but if you can find it on sale, stock up!
Perfect for cereal and frothed heated milk for coffee. Not sweet!
This cashew milk is delicious. Tastes great with coffee and foams well in my Nespresso machine. The quality is great, made only of cashews and water. With so many cow milk alternatives on the market containing fillers, this is by far my favorite, clean-tasting 2-ingredient milk. While I wish the producer also offered an organic version of this cashew milk, and the delivery people would not throw the boxes hard on the floor causing occasionally one of the boxes to burst and for the milk to spill, when it comes to the taste of this milk, there’s nothing better out there right now.
If you want a sugary nut drink, you may like this Elmhurst Cashew Milk with added cane sugar and "natural flavors".My household has been trying to purchase the unsweetened version with only TWO ingredients, cashews and water, a product which is difficult to find, and which Elmhurst is rightly proud of.Three times, i have ordered the unsweetened version, and three times the wrong item has been sent. Twice, i ordered the crates of (6) 32 ounce cartons from Amazon, and once i purchased single cartons from Whole Foods (they sent an entirely different brand - with sugar and gums). Now, i am stuck with 416 ounces of unwanted, perishable, sweetened cashew milk . Annoyingly, these are unreturnable - and pretty expensive. With autoimmune disease and cancer in our home, we strive to avoid sugar and unidentified "natural flavors", which are in the sweetened Elmhurst Cashew Milk. So, Amazon, we do love you, but please stop sending expensive products which have not been ordered and which are not returnable. How do i know when i can order - and receive - the correct item?!
This brand is always good when it comes to a variety of high quality dairy alternatives. Their milked coconuts and cashews is no different! I think it just might be my favourite from the brand. (Which is shocking—I’m not usually q cashew milk kind of girl!) Creamy, delicious, and undeniably smooth—it goes well in coffee and even cereals!(I know it’s a barista blend but trust me, it always elevates any and all cereals! Its thickness doesn’t show up too much in this context but it is technically thicker than other milks!)
