I like this product. I'm tired of broken XLR cables. I compared an XLR cabled mic and the same mic with this product. I would say it is 99.99% as clear. Good enough for karaoke for sure. Goodbye to XLR cables!!!

Haven't done a full live event test yet, but what was primarily important to me was it's transparancy. I tested it with a Shure SM58 microphone, with a sound-familiarized friend of mine listening as I switched between using a cord or the wireless, on two channels setup identically. He couldn't see which method I was using, and noticed no difference and neither did I. I tested a few other more expensive wireless sets, and this was the only one that didn't add some form of coloration to the mic's response. At this point I highly recommend this product. Will come back and adjust later on if I find differences in a live application.

Update 2/27/25I'm updating this because I received another set made by Aroma that turned out to be even nosier than this pair. They are so noisy, I can't imagine I would ever use them except in an emergency (and would they even be charged in that case?). So, I have to, in good conscience, change my 2 star rating of these to at least a 3 because they are less noisy, they are $30 cheaper, and they have support for 48v power to the mic. I haven't tried the 48v yet, but the Aromas don't support that at all. So these are better than I first thought. I still don't like the compression of the sound however.Original review:When I plug the receiver into my Mackie 1604 board and adjust the trim to get a zero level, I hear high frequency noise, like white noise. I can use the filtering on the board to reduce it, but then I lose the high end detail. On top of that, no matter where I set the levels, the audio quality doesn't sound that good to me, it sounds overdriven, similar to tape saturation. The mic I'm using is an old AKG ball mic and when I plug it in using a cable, I don't hear any of these issues, so it isn't the mic. It could be the mic signal is too strong for the transmitter but that seems counter to the need to adjust the trim on the receive end to get a decent level. So my feeling about this TX/RX pair is it might be OK for band rehearsal, I haven't tried it there yet, or maybe OK in a noisy bar where you can barely hear anything anyway. But if you need a clean sound, this isn't going to get you that. I could maybe live with the high end hiss if I was mic'ing a kick drum, because I could just filter out the noise, but that overdriven sound would still be bothersome.I wish I had some other dynamic mics to try these with, just to see if different mic strength matters, but my only other mic is a Neumann condenser mic that requires 48v, and, frankly, given the quality so far, I'm afraid to plug my expensive studio mic into these. One other thing I can point out is that the transmitter is big enough that it won't slide through my mic holders, I have to unplug the transmitter if I want to remove the mic and walk around with it. Obviously a singer who likes to work the crowd would hate that.On the pro side, I like the USB-C charging capability and the actual slider switches to turn these on and off, and enable the 48v. They also pair quickly and are pretty inexpensive compared to more known brands. But as the expression goes, you get what you pay for.
