For the price, this digital 20MP Minolta MN40Z camera has an excellent quality lens that takes high resolution pictures. Now add the ability to take high resolution sharp zoomed pictures of very distant objects, birds (egret or heron), the moon, etc. using the 40x optical zoom is a nice bonus unavailable with modern phones. Taking high quality pictures is very easy just using the Auto mode, it’s like point, focus/zoom & shoot! But if you want to take a picture of the full moon in detail (see included picture), you can use a tripod, then select the Manual mode and play around with the film speed (ISO) and shutter speed to get a nice detailed photograph. And that’s the high point for this camera, you can take photos automatically easily and also choose to customize your photos using options in the Manual mode. The included case, strap and lens cover w/attached string makes this a nice combination. I highly recommend this to anyone that likes to take high quality pictures.
Pros small, lightweight, easy to use, Wi-Fi, capable, and it takes pretty decent day photographs. I also like that it does have a built-in lash that you can use. Cons the first day using it on two separate occasions from switching from mode to mode and zooming close to far away my camera actually froze. I had to pop out the batteries and put them back in to reset the camera so I will keep an eye on that. It’s definitely not a DSLR camera and it doesn’t take the best motion photos so it’s not gonna capture a running dog but as you can see it did a great job on the ducks and various things and I think the color was good on automatic. It actually is a pretty decent camera. I wanna I gave it four stars. I would’ve given it five if it had a little bit better of a stabilizer and if it would’ve done better, taking lowlight photos, but all in all the picture quality is fine for what I’m gonna be using it for.

I know I need a hood for theScreen too see the pics veryHad in sun light.
A Great Camera that Takes Awesome Pictures Especially with a 40 Power Zoom Lens.I usually Zoom it 10 to 15 Power to get Great Pictures of Birds or Squirrels that are normally 25 to 50 Yards Away. And it does Great for Closer Pictures of Kids or Family Members up Close.I would Buy the Same Camera again if Something Happened to My Camera. And I like the Image Stabilizer that Helps a Lot!!
I do not believe my camera was new. It came with a handwritten note on the instruction book and was missing a charging cable. It was supposed to be new.
Not good picture/video quality. Hard to focus objects in the screen. Most pictures are blurry.
I am a novice camera user, and for me this works nicely. Takes good pictures for my uses and has plenty of features and easy to upload. Maybe the only negative thing is that it uses regular batteries, but that is not really a big deal. One less thing to worry about plugging in I guess.
Great camera! Very versatile and compact! Takes great photos, and the zoom feature is absolutely fantastic! I did have to buy a monopod to steady the camera when using the zoom, however this worked out great ! Although not recommended, I used a 500 gigabyte card and it worked out just fine. All I did was put it in the camera, format it, and start taking pictures!
This is a great camera if you don't have a modern smart phone. Honestly, I couldn't see this doing much more than even my older Pixel 7.Don't get me wrong, the camera is fine. The features are on-point for still photography or some short home movies. Everything you need to document your kids as they grow up. The wifi connection or the USB connection help keep things simple when it comes to uploading photos to your computer or tablet. Or, if you have an SD card slot, just pop out the sd card, slide it into the laptop and Bob's your uncle. Move the photos and videos to whatever folder you like. The ability to control the shutter with your phone is nice, but it's a pretty basic feature. In fact, for the price point, I'm not seeing any feature that stands out to justify it. Like I said, it's a fine camera, and it's well built. If you don't already have a modern smart phone, it's well worth the money. But why not just get a smartphone? Or use the one you have.I'm a Minolta fan from way back. I used to shoot film and slide photography with a Minolta 3xi. I eventually upgraded to the Sony Alpha because the lenses were interchangeable when digital photography was still new.I say that because I'd really like to see Minolta make a comeback. And a camera like this for just a few hundred bucks could really do the trick. But it needs to do the one thing that people with Smartphones who buy stand-alone cameras really want: content creation. I think if Sony would have just added a mini HDMI output and an external power input, then allowed the monitor on the back to flip 180 degrees, this camera would be perfect for the new YouTuber or TikTok creator.Sure, the MN67Z does this and a bit more for another couple hundred bucks, but now it starts getting out of the range for the new content creator.
