08-03-2026These colored pencils are great for my projects...crafts and just coloring as a relaxing activity. I download printables on regular copy paper, card stock and sometimes some heavier card stock for crafts. These pencils work on all of them. Instead of trying to get a darker shade by heavy pressing on the pencils, I do several light layers turning the page to color in a different direction each time for better coverage to get a deeper color. I've used the pencils for several project since receiving them and have not had any lead breakage at all. As with any colored pencils, I've been very careful to prevent dropping them which causes the leads to break. I like the variety of colors included. I am partial to the packaging over the usual flat packaging that takes up more room. I'd buy these pencils again if need arrises

08-03-2026Super pigmented and so easy to blend. I’ve never had more fun with colored pencils. They probably won’t last very long as a couple are already half gone after just this image—but it’s very big 20x26”So this probably isn’t an issue for the average user. It does start to get soft as my hand goes over previously colored areas—so I might set it then go in with the darker details to prevent them from getting too blended in. lol. You can see the top was the last part I drew and the bottom where I started is more soft from me rubbing my arm over it while drawing.

I understand there are some techniques and skills with colored pencils that I do not possess yet. As a beginner, looking at budget pencils, I came across these and bought them to try out. I also own the 150pc PrismaColor set and a 36 Polychromos.These are the AENIR colored pencils in the 72 piece set. They are currently $9.99 on Amazon. They are an oil based pencil with a harder feeling core.PROS:These pencils are nicely priced for their performance. The wood has a quality feel with capped and color coded barrels. They come in a roughly 3" cylindrical cardboard container that makes for easy transport.CONS:While these do have a harder core, it takes a few multiple layers to get a good burnish and blend. Some cores feel softer than others and they do tend to break when applying hard pressure. Some feel gritty. The pigment in some of the pencils are not as vibrant and thick as others within the set. The color coded ends do not match the pigment and I would suggest making a Swatch. Which comes to my biggest personal complaint. The Pallette. It is a little wonky and very Easter feeling. There are not many strong normal base colors and you will have to blend a lot to get the right matches. Which the next point is, they don't blend well. You gotta put down a lot of layers and will reach a build up issue eventually without having all your colors present. This could be because I stink at drawing also.CONCLUSION: 4 STARFor the price, these aren't terrible. They are a great starter set and very portable. I would say they are good for adult coloring books and if you need a cheap set of pencils to learn on. I would not recommend these for professional use. They just do not have the performance of other widely used brands and I do not know how good the light fastness properties hold up in these.

08-03-2026Colors on the ends are NOTHING like the actual color of the pencils. For example, the ends are purple but the pencils are pinks. The blues have black ends. The one labeled gray is actually brownish. The pencils themselves are fine.
