It somewhat puzzles me one would think this works like the camera system - but without a camera. It clearly says HDMI sync box in the product title and description.Anyhoo, I own both the Hue system and now the Govee sync box 2. Setup of the Govee box was a bit tricky, especially as a sound system is part of my setup. The Hue box is a bit more flexible when it comes to that. Once installed, latency and colors are excellent - without the need for having the annoying camera mounted onto your TV. Colors are vivid, not 100% accurate, and customization options are extensive (almost too extensive for my taste, but that’s a general issue with the current Govee app). The auto-off feature is convenient. The Philips Hue system offers a bit more convenience at a much higher price, so you better decide for yourself. However, the quality and customization options are pretty great and syncing the box with other Govee lights is flawless. Auto-on once an HDMI signal is detected, and automatic switching to the active HDMI input source like with the Hue system, would be awesome. Maybe that’s an option for a firmware upgrade in the future For now, I’ve connected it to the 15 bucks Govee remote, and put all 4 HDMI input sources on a dedicated button, together with the “On” option. Works well so far.To wrap this up: great system that does not need to hide behind the Hue Sync Box (whose color accuracy is superior) for a much lower price. Thumbs up!
Rubbish.Unfortunately the AI Sync Box 2 is easily the worst Govee product I have ever purchased—I’m crossing fingers and toes that software updates can fix. The issues start with the actual length of the strip light. I have an 85 inch TV and purchased the 85 inch version of AI Sync and it hardly covers the TV which leads to “dead” corners. Not the end of the world but it gets worse from there. These things are a blinking nightmare—unlike my camera based Govee TV backlights I have owned in the past which are wonderul; the AI Sync Box has the following issues:1. Flickering constantly—much worse if you are using Dreamview.2. Very, very slow to respond to onscreen changes. My camera Govee works amazing with nearly seamless transitions—this is very noticeable delay.3. Not colorful at all. It seems to generally give off a white glow and no matter what I do setting wise it just isn’t colorful.4. If there are colors they are wrong. I was watching a movie that has a scene that is completely black and it started displaying blue and red for example—this happens a lot.5. Dreamview very slow to link. My older camera based Govee setup instantly connects to all my Govee products for Dreamview—this sometimes takes several minutes for all the lights to finally sync to Dreamview.6. USB cable is SUPER short—85 inch TVs are quite massive and the baby USB cord provided barely reaches the box on my entertainment center. This in my opinion is the first miss from Govee. Truly love the company and own literally hundreds of their devices but this one simply misses nearly every mark. I would say get one of the camera based TV backlights instead—or what for potentially it being fixed via software update. It’s a bummer for sure.
Wanted something to make my movie time more immersive, I’ve tried the camera version but it wasn’t exactly spot on for, but this product did the job, these thangs are very bright especially if you’re in a dark room, the look of the colors are pretty good but some of the colors aren’t exactly 100%, mainly shades of blue red and yellow range but still pretty spot on, luckily the Govee app lets you control every aspect of the light strips, from brightness down to the saturation of displayed colors to make it more vibrant and more saturated if you choose to do so. Install was a breeze plug and play and you don’t really need the app to be honest. Connectivity is reliable, haven’t had it cut out, if the reds and blue were more red and blue I’d would have given it a 5 star, I’d say Philip hues does those specific colors better but at that point I’m just knit picking, overall very satisfied with my purchase.
Great product, much better than my old Nanoleaf 4D set. This actually stays stuck to my TV, but the clips..... Oh don't get me started on the clips. Please do better and have better adhesive on those. For that reason alone this gets 4 stars instead of 5.
This Govee Sync Box 2 completely transforms my TV setup. The colors are vivid, responsive, and perfectly match the on-screen action — it makes movies and gaming so much more immersive. Setup was fast and simple, and the app gives tons of customization options.HDMI 2.1 support works flawlessly with my 4K/120Hz setup, and there’s zero lag. The AI sync feature is surprisingly accurate too. Overall, it’s a premium upgrade that delivers on performance and visual impact — absolutely worth it!
Absolutely fantastic product, if you're a gamer, this is a Must have! Purely amazing! I was a doubter at first but this Sync Box just rocks! I don't need to reprogram or code anything, it just does what it needs to do, Sync lights to my Monitor, LED light strips is too big for a Gaming PC setup tho, better for 34" monitors, not so much for 27" screens, bending light strip required if you have a 27" setup
Really nice sync box, without any delay!I had some trouble at the beginning with the leds flickering badly. I've found out that if you increase the brightness > 75%, they work a LOT better. Like 15% or less brightness will flicker like crazy. Also turn on black bar elimination. For me, the CEC works well. I don't however use the input switching since all my HDMIs goes trough my AV receiver, then the receiver to the sync box.
Incredible.Really makes the viewing experience next level. Easy set up. Brightness is great. Good enough you probably won't even need the newest generation when it comes out. Yes, adhesion isn't great but its good enough. After you install this you won't regret it.Not for use with TV apps. Only for use with external devices like PS5, XBox, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, etc.
Works good pretty decent only down side dosent work with the high end Roku box but other than that it’s decent. Really good for gaming
Works really well! Was debating on getting the other Govee lights that have the camera but wasn’t super keen on having that on the top of the TV - the other option was the Philips one but the price was too out of my budget. If you’re in between those I would recommend these - cheaper option and works really well!! Have to use it through HDMI. We watch everything through our PS5 system so we’ve had no issues - everything syncs well while gaming and watching shows/movies. We also purchased the govee lamp and it syncs perfectly with it as well!
