- The fruit-forward, medium-bodied Merlot has prominent notes of black cherry, plum, and chocolate with a hint of vanilla on the nose. Its medium-full body, medium-high tannin, and medium acidity all help it go with a variety of foods, making it an ideal starter wine to your meal. Pair with mushroom pizza, steak quesadillas, spaghetti with marinara sauce, mild and strong cheeses - but make sure to keep some wine for dessert, as it pairs especially well with dark chocolate.
