I ordered these so that I could use them for climbing some pretty steep foothills. I probably won't get the full use out of them, but they will make climbing what we call 'the ridge' easier, especially if it snows or gets icy. I love that I can just put these on over either my shoes or my boots, and take them off when I am done with them. They come in a nice little pouch for easy storing as well.I wear a women's 8.5 shoe and I got the medium, and I haven't had any problem getting these on over my shoes. You do have to make sure you put the toe in first. Just looking at them laid flat I can't tell which end is which, and they didnt come with an instruction paper, but it clearly has arrows and orientation printed on the crampons, which I thought was easy enough to understand and I have never had any before.Overall, I think these are a great quality product. They seem durable and made of high quality materials, and I look forward to getting alot of use out of them. I think these are a good value for the price.

Very sturdy chains with added spikes for safety. The rubber rand is very stretchy but also solid so easy to fit and very secure. This kind of chain and spike is so much better that the stud type and I use them in hills and mountains as long as the terrain isn't too steep. They do ball up a little, but a quick tap loosens the ice no problem

Each cleat as pictured is 3/4 inch.My shoe is 10 1/2 wide size and these are, for as to there chart, LARGE SIZE.Put these on your shoe before putting your foot into your shoe, it'll be virtually impossible to install if you don't do it that way. This blue part was tough to get around sole so I'm thinking these run a little smaller, you might try larger size!!Don't wear if there's no ice, think you might damage cleats means there designed for ice snow only. Seem pretty well made, but the chain looks kind of cheap and cleats looks that way to.there marked left and right and back of it is marked BACK. NICE closing carry pouch with draw string with locking device on string to keep closed. Not sure how durable they are means i got them before bad weather is here.Small enough to throw behind your seat and with carry bag not spread around but be all contained in itself. For what I'm seeing I'd recommend these.

I wear a 9.5 shoe. At first I thought there would be no way to get this on my shoe. The opening simply wasn't large enough. But as I started stretching it, it just kept on stretching until it was on. I was amazed. The tightness of the rubber helped provide for taught chains. There wasn't any slack. There are two straps that I'm unsure what they are for, and there are no instructions to tell you.The steel cleats and chains seem durable enough to walk in concrete without doing any damage. The thick rubber stretches securely around the shoe. One of the chain attachment points is stretched. As long as it doesn't break free I see these lasting for many winters. The handy storage bag is a nice addition also.I will rate these as being of good quality and worth the price. We are currently in entering fall but I look forward to using these come winter. We typically get at least one good ice storm each year.At $20 I would say that they are decently priced.

I was expecting the xl to be bigger but it wasn’t. I can barely get them on my sprerry boots. They will grip ice very well, but unfortunately not on my current boots. Keep sizing in mind. Other than that they seem like they’re great crampons

I already have some nice micro spikes for my size 9 running or hiking shoes, and got these in XL, hoping they would fit my heavier snow boots well, and they do. They would easily fit a size 10, and maybe even 11 - though if your boots are larger and clunkier than mine, you'll have to take that into consideration. The materials on these seem slightly above average. I've seen enough broken ones abandoned along the trail that I don't expect them to last forever, but they should go for a while, especially if I don't abuse them. The rubber seems like a great blend between hard and flexible, almost gummy, which should reduce cracking with age or extremely cold temperatures. That also makes them easy to put on or take off. The material is a little bit thick, making me think they'll last longer than some others I've seen. The spikes are substantial. Not enough for real mountaineering, but perfect for snowy, icy, winter trails.I'll have to wait and see if they get loose enough that I'll need the velcro molle-like straps for better security, but it's good to have those just in case. And the storage bag is very nice. It lets you lay the rubber flat with no bending, also good for durability. And the bag material is quite tough, plenty to protect anything from the spikes inside. Stitching and the drawstring top are also good.

We don’t get snow here in Florida, but slippery leaves and tree roots are absolutely real hazards when hiking our forested trails. These traction cleats worked great on one rainy day when we hiked into a cypress hammock, my fiancé wandered confidently without worrying about slipping. The spikes grabbed well on the wet roots and slick leaves, and I’m glad we added them to our gear. I'm not sure if they’re built for deep ice or extreme mountaineering, but for our slice of swamp‑trail terrain, they did the job.

These are some serious intermediate crampons at a very reasonable price. These are not something that you wear around town when it is snowing to run errands. They are much too aggressive for casual use. At the same time they fall short of real crampons used by climbers. These are kind of an in between crampon good for hiking trails of half thawed then frozen over snow. These encompass my shoes and boots considerably more than the yax ones so they are much more secure than those casual traction devices. I have lost the yax type ones in deep snow from them slipping off my boot. There is no worry about these crampons slipping off when pulling a foot out of a snow bank.

There have been no reviews for this product yet.
