I have seen videos of this on social media sites and have been wanting to try it out and now I have my chance. I do agree it is a different kind of workout that you get with a regular dumbbell, and I do feel it (lightly) triggering my muscles differently than a dumbbell or static piece of gym equipment, but, I am not sure I am using it right. It comes with a very small sheet of instructions that do not tell me a whole lot about how exactly to use it. I was shaking it in all different ways and directions, and adjusting the tension (which you do my twisting either end of it), but it did not feel like it was shaking that much while I was shaking it. Then I saw there is a video on the item listing page that shows a little more detail on how exactly to use it and some different exercises you can do.But even after watching the video, by shaker weight does not behave like the weight in the video. Maybe I got one that is a little defective? Maybe I am not using it correctly? Maybe a little of both? I do not know. I do think that at the listed retail price there should be better instructions on how to use it. I still give it four stars though because it is easy for me to use at my older age and it does seem to be effective at toning and activating muscles that I normally would not exercise with statis weights. I do think it has value. I am just not sure I am doing it right.Adjusting the tension is easy, just twist it. The plastic feels strong and sturdy and I think it will hold up for a long time even with (hopefully) regular use.
its not working and its not good.
So, this thing is not immediately intuitive in my opinion as you need to finess a very minimal movement range in a short linear fashion for it to work properly. If you over shake it, it will just feel wrong ... but then again when you do it right... it also feels a bit "wrong" in a completely different way. lol. Anyways, it DOES do a good job of eccentric engagement which not a lot of exercise equipment really does, so I applaud it for that. I wish the instructions were a bit more clear though. The one page instruction sheet didn't even have any photos or illustrations showing how to use it, and apparently it used to come with a DVD at one point, but that is no longer included, nor does it have any URL links for online videos to watch. I would recommend they add a QR code at least with a link to some online demonstrations for their customers in or on the box. Very neiche use case, but it DOES target your muscles in a way other equipment really doesn't, so if you want to make sure and get the full range of training, it is worth checking out.
I had a shake weight back in the day. But this new one is awesome. You can change the weight to adjust for muscles being targeted. Great product
I’ve been using this for a few weeks, and it's been great for my home workouts. Super easy to adjust the weight. It takes just a few seconds and the build feels pretty solid. The grip is quite comfortable too.I love that it doesn’t take up much space and replace a bunch of individual dumbbells. Perfect for arm, chest, and core workouts.
Great
Love it
They all over priced and this is too. No value! No intensity not worth anything!
