I don't particularly have anything against my sesame seeds coming from India. I do think they should have put that in the listing though. I think putting some Korean on the label was a tiny bit disingenuous. I definitely made it seem like it comes from Korea, even if they didn't claim it.The seeds themselves are good. They seem to be fresh. They had plenty of flavor. I didn't say any bugs in there. They smelled like roasted sesame seeds. Everything about them seemed like decent roasted sesame seeds. The bottle was even filled mostly to the top.As far as value for money goes, I guess it's pretty good. It's definitely cheaper than sesame seeds to come directly from Korea, that's for sure. However, it comes from India. That does drop the value a little bit, but it's still pretty decent.
These sesame seeds are wonderful and I love how easy it is to use. They are already toasted, and have a great, mild flavor to them. The container makes it easy to sprinkle it on various foods, and there is a good amount of them in the container. There are two layers of seals on it, an inner and outer layer. When it arrived, the outer cap was propped open a bit, but the outer seal was able to keep most of it shut. One thing I didn't like was that the outer seal was difficult to remove, as the adhesive is quite strong and left some residue on the cap as well. But that is a pretty minor complaint.I do think that this is a tad pricey, but the quality and ease of use are worth the tradeoff of buying cheaper, raw sesame seeds that you'd have to toast yourself. Overall, a good product!
it was rancid with strong smell
These roasted white sesame seeds have become a staple in my kitchen. The shaker bottle dispenses just the right amount of seeds without spilling everywhere and the seeds themselves taste fresh and nutty. I sprinkle them over salads and noodle bowls and they always add a satisfying crunch and toasty aroma. The packaging would have been perfect but none of the lids would close and even the seal was pretty loose. The sesame seeds are good but please note that PRODUCT IS FROM INDIA. Also, label has Japanese and Korean characters and why I thought this product came from the Orient and NOT India.
These sesame seeds, already pre-toasted for you so you don’t need to do it. Which I appreciate. You don’t get a whole lot for the price so I consider these on the expensive side. They are very tasty and fresh tasting. They don’t taste rancid. I love these in my Asian cooking or sprinkled on salads or in my seedy bread.
I just made some Korean meals and this tops them off perfectly
The seeds are evenly roasted and smell warm and nutty the moment I pop the lid. A quick shake over bibimbap, sesame chicken, or fried rice adds crunch and that toasty aroma that makes the dish taste complete. They are pre-toasted, so I do not have to babysit a pan. The shaker top dispenses a tight stream, which keeps me from dumping half the bottle by accident. The jar is generously filled and the texture is crisp, not dusty.A few caveats. My bottle’s outer seal was stubborn and left a bit of sticky residue on the cap. The flip lid also needed a couple of tries before it would sit fully closed. Flavor runs roasted and savory, though one sprinkle tasted slightly more bitter than the rest, which I chalk up to a darker roast. The label styling made me expect a different origin than India, which is not a deal breaker, but I would have preferred that to be clearer on the page before buying. For everyday cooking this is a win. Fresh, clean flavor. No rancid notes. Handy shaker. I use it on salads, noodles, and quick stir fries, and several cooked meals, and a little goes a long way. The value feels fair for a ready-to-use roast and a large, pantry friendly bottle. I knocked off 1 star for the finicky seal and the mixed signals on origin, but I am happy to keep this on the counter within easy reach.
These toasted sesame seeds add strong nutty flavors and get tiny texture delights to your dishes! You can taste the freshness and the quality. They're toasted to perfection and still retain some oil/moisture. I've had far too many jars of toasted sesame seeds that were dried out and not nearly as flavorful. This is a wonderful size at a nice value for many, many uses as a little bit goes a long way. I literally use this every day!
