08-03-2026I was really surprised that I was able to get all this with only 8 dollars!!! Definitely worth the money. It came with so much equipment. They all work really well. I did draw a couple things with them.

08-03-2026By no means am I a professional artist but I have about 35 years of drawing experience. While I wouldn't use this set of pencils for a piece of work I plan on keeping in my portfolio I certainly have been using this set in my every day carry pencil pouch for quick sketches.This drawing set comes with pencils ranging from 5H to 8B as well as charcoal pencils, charcoal sticks and accessories. I have some difficulty getting the cap off and back onto the gel pen but once open the ink does run smoothly and the graphite pencils are decent quality for practicing and beginners.I love that the kit came with a pencil extender, and blending stumps - usually those need to be purchased separately when buying drawing kits. The kit does come with an art knife so please be aware of that if you're gifting this set to a child.Overall I'm happy with the quality and contents and do recommend this pencil for practicing and beginners.

Artist-grade pencils like Staedtler Mars Lumograph and Faber-Castell 9000 typically cost around $15 just for the pencils alone, without the extras this pack provide like charcoal sticks, blending stumps, sharpeners, erasers, and more.There's definitely an impressive assortment. if you're not familiar with pencil grading, it's divided into several letters (H=hard, B=black/soft, HB=middle ground, F=fine) and numbers (the degree of hardness or softness). It contains a full set including B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 8B, HB, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, as well as Hard/Medium/Soft.But this is one of those things that most professional artists can tell at a glance is definitely inferior. Compared to their professional counterparts, there are definitely noticeable differences. The leads feel more scratchy and grainy, which can make shading more unpredictable. I also find the break much more easily. The accessories included such as sharpeners and erasers are also far inferior to what a professional would use.The packaging goes out of its way to say "American Company" and "Designed in USA", but it's fairly clear these were massed produced somewhere and didn't go through the design rigor and quality control of a more established brand.All of that said, it's a good looking and complete set that could make an excellent introduction to the art for kids who just want to dabble and experiment, but not enough to justify investing in getting proper, professional-grade equipment. But for adults and aspiring professionals, I'd probably still stick with iconic brands like Faber-Castell, Staedtler, Derwent, which actually aren't a whole lot more expensive than these.
