This mic is solid. It's durable, sounds good, and is budget friendly. However, when you compare a microphone against all other microphones that are used for professional use cases, then that is where you will see the difference. While this mic does a good job and provides good clean audio, there are some aspects to it that might make someone decide to spend 2x as much as this mic costs to get you a step up in quality and versatility. Then there are considerations that might be attractive to get a mic like this. This, as I have mentioned, is very solid. There is no doubt about how solid this mic feels. It comes with a lengthy, decent quality cable, and this has a switch built in.The handling noise on this mic isn't the worse, but it's not the best either. It's actually not bad compared to some other mics I have that will capture every little rub when handling. The capsule does not have a shock suspension like you might find on SM models, as it's very solid in place. This doesn't help with handling noise, but again this isn't that bad, there is far worse out there. This would be considered a budget mic in my opinion. While you can get great results from this mic, and it's a great option for the budget, yes, I would choose to record an SM model that is twice the cost... but that is because I have one already. With this mic you can achieve some good recordings, yes. You can tweak the sound of your mix to get the sound you want, yes. In comparison to the ubiquitous mic used in practically every use case ever, this might sound a little gain hungry, and cut at the low ends a little more so, and has ever-so slightly bit of noise.

This is a high quality microphone that's got the cardioid pickup pattern and a nice foam insert and other accessories and it's presented well inside of a nice container. You can tell a lot of detail has been put into it and I trusted the electronics from the start. It sounds really good with the pickup. I'm not noticing any distortion or sound loss and it's nice that it has a on-off switch as well so this is a quality wired microphone option at a reasonable price.

I needed another dynamic microphone for my practice room, mainly for backing vocals. I came across this microphone and wanted to give it a chance because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a dynamic microphone like a SM58 or Beta 58.Included in the package is the microphone itself, a 6 meters male to female XLR cable, aXLR to ¼ jack cable and a user guide. For the price, the closest and cheapest microphone you could get from shure is the PGA48. Compared to the Shure that is made of plastic, this one is actually made out of metal and literally costs the same price. The one that would actually be similar is the PGA58, the lower quality version of the SM58. Honestly, with the test I made, I'm not really sure if there is a big enough difference to justify the purchase of a PGA58 over this microphone. For this microphone, you get a lot more that what you pay forAll in all, as a main or back vocal mic for your band practice, it's literally impossible to beat at this price point. The only con in my opinion is that with time, maybe the on/off switch will stop working and render the mic useless… but that's something to be seen.

This mic feels great in the hand: sturdy, sleek, and ready to work. The sound is clear and focused, with just the right amount of warmth for vocals. Whether I’m belting out ballads or recording a podcast in my closet (don’t judge), it delivers every time. Not something you'll use for professional work, but for home studio, it gets the job done. The long cord gives me room to move, and the on/off switch is a nice touch.Reliable and affordable. Pretty happy with it.

Item: Talomen Store's L-52B Dynamic, Super-Cardioid Mic, BlackPrice: $49.99Per the manufacturer, the Yalomen L-52, a cardioid dynamic mic, is best suited for the ‘The Spoken Word’ and Karaoke’. So I felt that the best way to review and share would be to produce a short video using this mic. An immediate curiosity was the vendor page showing the model number as L-52B, but the mic box, which I’ll add was impressive in that it’s of a robust hard-paper-board construction and has a magnetic open-close flap. Up front I highly suggest you keep the box. In that box you’ll find a perfectly fitting foam insert for the mic and a compartment for the female to male XLR cable and an female XLR to male ¼” two-conductor phone-plug. So you’re covered for using an interface or plugging directly into an audio system. For me to test the mic, I connected the Talomen mic (XLR out) to my commercial XLR-in to USB-C-out audio interface. I then ran the USB-C output from the interface into my master PC system running Windows. Without altering or editing the microphone’s audio, I computer-produced my video in Video pad software. What you hear in the review video is un-altered.This is the third budget ($50 range) cardioid dynamic mic I’ve reviewed in the last month. And based on my knowledge of the previous mic’s design and specifications, and now looking at the Talomen, I’m seeing near identical frequency response; 50 to 16-kHz frequency sensitivity. I’m also seeing what I believe to be the same cardioid mic capsule. Even the mic’s metal screen, which unscrews like the other mics, has the same internal foam ‘spit-percussive’ filter. So what’s ‘better’ about the Taloman? Quite simply it has a mic-handle on-off switch. One of the other budget mics had no switch. There was a switchable version of that mic, but that ‘S’ upgraded model was a few dollars more. Interestingly, and something I appreciated, the Talomen user’s manual was the best organized and best supported with clear and well-illustrated line art. Between the storage box, the user’s manual and the built in switch, I have to say this is the best of the budget mics, under $50, that I’ve seen and reviewed. As far as the audio from this mic, it was certainly equal to the other two budget mics. And frankly, I like the design of the Talomen over the others. I’d also highly recommend the 4-year extended warranty offered on the Amazon page. At $9 it’s well worth it, given the performance of the mic.

Well I am not a professional audiophile by any means but do dabble in music and frankly this mic does a great job on vocals. It is built very heavy and feels like it would cost a lot more than it does. Seems like the mechanics are good and the recordings sound very clear and not distorted and don’t notice any sound loss. The case it comes in is excellent too. Not just a box you will throw a way but actually makes a great case to keep it in which is a great idea to save on waste. Two cable lengths included is awesome and the on off on the mic is a handy option as well. For the price you can’t go wrong!
