I've been telling myself for years that I'd get back into drawing "if only I had a proper set." Well, my bluff has been called. I finally decided to spend a few of my hard-earned coins on this HIFORNY Sketching Set, and I'm both thrilled and slightly terrified.First off, the presentation is just stunning. It arrives in a beautiful canvas roll-up case that makes you feel like a seasoned artist on a scenic expedition, even if you're just traveling from your kitchen to the living room couch. Unrolling it for the first time was a genuinely satisfying experience; everything is neatly organized in its own little slot, looking professional and ready for action. It’s the kind of packaging that makes you handle the contents with a little more respect. The Tools of the Trade (and My Lack of Excuses):You get a fantastic range of graphite pencils, from a hard 5H (perfect for those light initial sketches you're probably going to erase anyway) all the way to a buttery soft 8B that lays down rich, dark lines like a dream. The charcoal pencils are equally impressive - deep, velvety blacks that make you feel like a master of shadow, even if you’re just doodling a very dramatic-looking apple. But the real game-changer for me was the collection of blending tools. For years, I've been a professional finger-smudger. Having actual blending stumps and tortillons at my disposal feels like a serious upgrade. They give you so much more control and create those smooth, professional-looking gradients that my index finger could only dream of achieving. The accessories aren't just filler, either. The kneaded eraser is like a little grey blob of magic, lifting charcoal and graphite without a trace, and the sharpeners actually give you a sharp, usable point without eating half the pencil. It’s the little things! The Verdict:This isn't just a set; it's a complete, portable studio. It has absolutely everything a beginner or intermediate artist needs to dive in headfirst. The quality of every single piece, from the pencils to the canvas case, is far beyond what I expected for the price. You truly get every tool you could ask for to start creating seriously. So, am I a great artist now? Not yet. But thanks to the amazing quality and comprehensiveness of this HIFORNY set, I can no longer blame my tools. It’s beautiful, it’s high-quality, and it has everything. 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone looking to unleash their inner artist (or silence their inner procrastinator).
This sketching kit is perfect for me. I’m an artist, and I love to make very detailed designs. My favorite medium is charcoal, and these pencils give me what I need to make beautiful pictures. This will make a great gift as well because the pencils are excellent quality.
This is a very comprehensive pencil set for someone getting into drawing. I have a hard time telling a difference between some of the higher H pencils, but I could definitely tell I've I got to B that the pencil lead got progressively softer like they're supposed to. The roll up portable bag is nice for talking this whole set on the go, and I like that it has an area to protect the lead tips with a folded up section of canvas. The set includes 14 pencils that are 5H - 14B and pre sharpened, three unsharpened ones labeled soft, medium, and hard, a white colored pencil that is unsharpened, three different sized blending sticks, three pieces of charcoal, a blade sharpener for sharpening by hand (which was preferred in my college art class), plastic pencil sharpener, a vinyl eraser, and a kneaded eraser. So far these all seem like pretty good quality and are a good value drawing set.
This sketching pencil set is very nice and looks more expensive than it is! Each element has its own place in the "bag" so everything stays in order. It fits snigly in place so there is no shock between the pencils when carrying it around, which means no broken leads. It would make a great gift for a kid, teen or adult, either as a beginner's set or as a traveling set. 100% worth the price!
I grabbed this set for outreach kits, seasonal resets, and emotional prompts. The pencils held firm, the charcoal respected tone, and the layout moved with me. It’s not just art—it’s clarity.✏️ Tools That Speak Calm:Graphite, charcoal, blending stumps, erasers, and more. I’ve used them for bonding kits, vinyl overlays, and seasonal flyers—no gaps, no guesswork. Case That Carries Well:Canvas roll-up with labeled slots. I’ve packed it for resets, client intros, and care zones—no clutter, no scramble. Texture That Moves With You:Smooth laydown with responsive shading. I’ve tested it across portraits, prompts, and emotional resets—no drag, no smudge. Pro Tip:Pair with a vinyl “Sketch Ready” tag or QR overlay for emotional lift. If you’re gifting or prepping kits, include a care card with drawing prompts or seasonal overlays. If you’re looking for a pencil set that blends clarity, motion, and trust-tested expression, this one doesn’t just sketch—it anchors.
This is a great set! I love drawing with pencils, the set also has charcoal and blenders. I really like that the set can roll up for storage. I got this for myself, but I think it would be a great gift as well, since it comes with so much.
Product: 28 PCS Sketching Drawing Pencil Set...*****I got this set because I’m on a mission to expand my art chops and recently signed up for a drawing class. Pencil sketching is a foundational skill and a hole in my self-education. I’m terrific at painting and watercolor, even ink illustration. But in my world, pencils are what you use to rough out an idea, not actually make art with! This set includes a wide breadth of items, it's a great starter pack. There are so many pencils of varying degrees of hardness and softness. I'm learning that the harder pencils give a darker line while the softer ones are more faint. Intuitively I would just vary the pressure, but using multiple pencils lets you relax your grip and let the lead do the work. I love working with the graphite sticks. The pencil sharpener works well and doesn’t break the leads off while you’re sharpening them, as long as you’re consistent in your pressure. It includes a cutter to sharpen the graphite sticks too. The kneaded eraser is the best because it doesn’t damage my paper at all. I use it to clean up the smudges and shadows from moving my hand around on the work.My favorite part is the fabric case that keeps all the items visible when you’re sketching, but rolls up into a compact package that I can take with me to class. This set seems completely sufficient for my use case as a beginner and has everything I need (except skill). It’s a terrific value compared to buying all of these items separately. Would be a great gift for someone getting into the medium because it’s a complete kit and presents really well.
This is my first time buying this item and to be honest it is very affordable compared to Fabel Castell. Specially when you’re beginner, highly recommended!!
Up until I got this set, I just used a regular pencil and eraser to do my sketching. I knew it wasn't the greatest, but it worked okay for what I needed. I like to acrylic paint on wood panels and sometimes on canvas. I prep the wood panels with multiple layers of a base coat and sanding in between to get a smooth surface to paint on. Then I would just us a regular pencil to sketch before painting and sometimes during painting (dried) if some layers of paint covered up my sketch. I tried these pencils and they just go on to the prepped surface so well and the feel as I'm sketching is much smoother than with a regular pencil.Recently, and before I got this set, I purchased a pack of three white sketching pencils for when I want to sketch on a darker prepped surface. I wish I had this set. For the current price of under $20CAD, and getting a full set, it's better than just buying a few drawing pencils separately. I think anyone who draws or sketches would love this set.
Supplies came right on time, everything is included as stated, and overall great quality, great experience. Package was in pretty good shape, and all materials inside were in good condition still. Both erasers work great and are fairly durable. Charcoal sticks are great quality but take a little to get broken in. Sharpener is okay, just small. The razor blade/knife is a little flimsy but is very sharp and still works great. The charcoal pencils are amazing and work great. I have never used charcoal pencils but loved them (a drawing I did with them is attached). Both the charcoal and charcoal pencils blend very well and go on paper very smoothly. On the other hand, the white charcoal pencil does not work as good as expected. When sharpened it crumbled a little, but eventually got it to be somewhat sharp. It isn't super bright on paper but I could be using it in the wrong context. The graphite pencils are high quality and feel great, blend very well and high variety in values (drawing attached). The pack that these are stored in is very handy and designed very well. It is easily stored and transported, and hold everything very well. Overall, in my opinion, it is amazing value for only 10 dollars, and would be great for those looking for some good charcoal and graphite pencils and tools to go along.
I’m really happy with the purchase of this product. It’s well worth the money and I highly recommend
