I am super impressed with the RG Slide! The overall construction is top quality. It is a little heavier and thicker than the other handhelds I have and really looks and feels like a high quality product. Sliding the top screen up to reveal the controls below gives me a great feeling of nostalgia and the controls are all very high quality. The screen is a nice sized 4.7" and a high quality 1280x960 resolution .It is the same 4:3 aspect ratio of classic CRT TVs that retro consoles were made for so retro gaming looks fantastic! In addition to being great for playing games the screen is also really nice for playing classic TV in the 4:3 format. The processor is more than powerful enough to emulate all of the classic consoles I grew up with and love! There is a lot of storage space built into the console but there is a Micro SD card slot for adding even more space. It has a powerful 5500mAh battery and is easy to charge via USB-C. The Android OS makes it super easy to add your own content and customize to your hearts desire as well as easily connect devices by Bluetooth, stream content and do screen casting! All in all a very nice handheld retro gaming console.
The build quantity is excellent. It was just a little bit too heavy for me. I wasn’t anticipating it being that thick either. It’s not a bad thing. It’s just not for me.
I picked up this handheld gaming device and it’s been an absolute blast reliving my childhood with its massive library of retro games from classic consoles like NES, SNES, Game Boy, Sega Genesis, and even some arcade titles. The controls feel incredibly responsive and well-built, with tactile buttons that have just the right amount of click and analog sticks that are smooth and precise for those games that support them. The IPS screen delivers surprisingly crisp and vibrant visuals that make these pixel-perfect retro games look better than I remembered, with excellent color reproduction and no noticeable lag or ghosting during fast-paced action sequences. In terms of ergonomics, this device feels solid and comfortable in my hands even during extended gaming sessions, it’s not too heavy or bulky, and the button placement feels natural without causing hand cramps. Loading up classics like Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, Tetris, and Street Fighter II brings back so many memories, and having hundreds of games readily available in my pocket is simply incredible. The fun factor is through the roof - I find myself pulling this out during commutes, lunch breaks, and lazy weekend afternoons, getting lost in gaming sessions that stretch much longer than I originally planned. The battery life easily handles several hours of continuous play, and the quick save/load feature means I can jump in and out of games seamlessly without losing progress. Overall, this retro handheld has rekindled my love for classic gaming and provides endless entertainment value that makes it worth every penny for any nostalgic gamer.
I give this one a 3, but only because people where saying it could handle gamecube. It can if you can handle periodic slideshowing. The only thing I've tried on gamecube is nba street v2. V3 won't play at all. It's great for anything less intensive than that. It plays everything great with psp emulation. Haven't tried 3ds yet. Hear that does good, but idk yet. I struggle playing ds games on a single screen. Other than that, the battery life could be better. It's ok, but you're paying extra for the slide factor, and idk if its worth it for that. Im not returning it. There's fun to be had.
Took me a little bit to get this going but I got it. Really don’t work with computers much and that’s what this is just smaller . Had to go back a lot and ask questions on how it works on the Rufus ask questions about this product it helped out a lot that’s how I got it working . Great console just got to get use to it , once u start playing more and using it like anything else it gets easier. Wellmade , If u get a little bored good thing to have and play around with. Good weight , seems well made , price is reasonable now that I’ve messed around with it more on this console
Amazing console. I put my own emulators & Android games on it. I customized it with NOVA Launcher Prime. Very reliable. A lot of my Android games work with the console controller & others with the touch screen. My 1 TB micro SD card was recognized right away. Battery life is great. It streams video & music apps really well also. I bought a Nintendo Switch case from a different retailer for it so I could fit it in with my earbuds, charger, & stylus. Came exactly on time. Great product, great seller. I haven't stopped playing with it since I got it. I love you RG Slide!!!
The slide action on this handheld console is incredibly satisfying, and the screen quality is top-notch. The comfortable buttons make gaming for hours a breeze. This has quickly become my go-to handheld device for gaming on the go. Highly recommend! It is a bit bulky, but not so much that it is a problem.
Very good handheld I love this handheld so much it's better than my gamemt e6 linux that lasted for 3 months and these other bootleg Gameboys that I had it runs android very well and you can even use the play store good if chargers well the ai is very friendly and the voice sounds very good I got this today in fact I'm writing this on a rg slide rn but I gave it 4 stars because it doesn't have preloaded games and it is kinda hard to get roms thankfully you can use a emulator app The Ai translations can be annoying sometimes as it will try to translate even if it's in English and the rg silde does not have a camera or phone calling system but at least you can take a screenshot on apps from the play store and my charger that came with this device broke but I used a another charger but overall best handheld of 2025 the $199 was worth it thanks for the product anbernic I will get your handhelds again in the future I recommend buying this if you want a android handheld
