This is actually a pretty great set. For the price, the microphone is pretty nice. It has a reasonable sound radius, allowing speakers or singers a little freedom on how close they have to hold it all the time. The sound is clear and realistic, though it can sound a little muddy, depending on their voice. This can be handled with a little EQ work, and honestly, at the price point, it works better than a lot of my lower end mics. The bag is high-quality and is organized well to hold all of the different accessories. The stand is fine, though it does have a narrow stand circumference, so you do need to be careful where you set it. But again, for the price point this is a great set that is super portable and has all the items you would need to have a successful karaoke or speaking event.

If you need a microphone with a stand and XLR cable, this package fills the bill nicely. The stand is well made and stable. It can be adjusted to reach almost everyone. It has a boom arm so that it can be used if the singer is also playing an instrument. The microphone is decent quality and has good sound and the cable is 15 feet long which should be enough to reach the mixing board. All in all a great price for what you get.

Haven’t used it fully yet, but it was missing a screw cap on one of the connections…they keep the washers on until you attach the appropriate piece. Extension poles are very flimsy and the tightening screws aren’t sufficient to hold the mic holder in place, once you insert the mic. Typical cheap engineering. I’m still debating whether to keep it, since I haven’t had occasion to actually use it, just assembled it. So annoying. Made in that country where quality isn’t exactly a priority.

I have a few Bowens mics and I do like them. They are bit less than some of the more pricey but similar profile mics. They work well as all around general microphones. I have found them fairly robust for guitar amps and even some bass drum work. Although I am not thrilled with an on/off switch. Which invariably gets turned at the wrong time. A piece of electrical tape solves that most of the time. But it can still happen. Not so much an issue in studio, but in a live venue could be a bit more of an annoyance. I wish they would make a alternative mic, with no on/off switch for more Pro situations. But all in all it is still a good mic. With metal case and a bit of weight to it, it feels solid. The boom stand included with this setup does work... BUT that 3 leg bottom, is not the most sturdy. Can be a bit tipsy. This is a problem I have solved for tipsy music stands and mic stands like this. So, here's my tip. I use lead pellet weight bags that scuba divers use. They come in various weights. I use 5 pound weights. On multi-leg stands like this, I use 3 of them! Yeah... that's 15 pounds! Believe me, you will not regret having the stand get knocked over. Bowens did a nice job overall with a decent cable AND a carrying case. A relatively low price for all included, I would recommend it.

This mic is impressive at this price point even without the extras ... it sounds great for vocals, and is rugged. The extras, though, make it an even better deal! It comes with an XLR cable and adapters, a soft case for the mic, a light-duty tripod-style mic stand, and a carrying case for it all. Definitely check it out!

I’m impressed by this microphone and stand. The kit comes with a fully adjustable tripod, stand, a carotid, microphone, a 15 foot cable, a foam cover for the mic, a carrying bag for the stand and a separate smaller pouch for the microphone. On unboxing, I was pretty impressed by the quality of the bag, which is a thicker grade of nylon than I was expecting. The stand set up pretty easily and there is a good deal of adjustability for height and angle. The quality of tubing and set screws is decent for this price. It seems sturdy enough The stand has a couple of clips to tether down the microphone cord. The microphone, while not an SM 58, is pretty nice. The sound quality is better than you would think at this price point and it’s fully usable in a band situation. If I was primarily a vocalist in a gigging band, I would spring for the genuine article. But for singing back up during practice – or for singing karaoke – it’s pretty good. As a bonus, it has a functional on and off switch which is something that is missing on a couple other budget microphones I own. Another plus about the microphone is that it is an XLR on both ends. I initially thought that it would be a hard wired 1/8 jack but it actually comes with an adapter that gives you an option of going into an XLR or a 1/8 input. At this price point, there is a lot to like.

I have had the opportunity to try out several Bowens products over the last few years, and generally speaking, I like what they offer. Therefore, I was very excited to see this mic stand kit, which was one of the main items I needed to complete my setup. I was very disappointed to find that keeping this stand upright is almost impossible unless the microphone is set in with the stand nearly fully vertical. You can not use it horizontally in a boom-mic style as they show right in the main product image. This is mainly because the base is too narrow and there is no weight, so as soon as you add in the microphone, the whole thing tips over. The included microphone is decent quality and identical to another Bowens mic that came with another kit; I have had no issue with it, the sound comes through clearly, it's a great, cheap mic to have.

Plug it in, set the height, and everyone from family karaoke nights to at-home podcasting sessions, has crisp, clear sound. The adjustable stand makes it easy to find the right setup for sitting or standing, and the cable is long enough for flexible placement. Durable, easy to use, and surprisingly professional for a home setup. It’s a hit for every voice in the house. I tried in my home recording studio and it is actually a really good quality all the way around. The stand can even be used on one of my drum kits. Good quality and a good price.
